Ok, you've probably heard this before, but we really mean it this time.
Fortina Chocolate is truly the best chocolate bar we've ever tasted.
We first met the creators of Fortina, Vince and Jinelle, back in 2006. They lived in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and had been playing around with the raw food diet for about six months. They realized that they absolutely loved it and wanted more!
We all found out about each other through the amazing eat.rawfood.com online community. The four of us knew we had to meet together in person shortly after meeting each other online.
Sometime in mid-2006 we all met at the only raw food restaurant in town: Ecopolitan.
Vince and Jinelle are a couple much like us: they are always growing and learning and loving life to the fullest. And also like us, they have big dreams.
They were loving the raw food lifestyle so much that their love drew them to San Diego, where Vince wanted to work for Nature's First Law (now Sunfood Nutrition). He knew his destiny was there. It was not an option - they had to go.
Shortly after working at Sunfood for a few scant months, Vince had met fellow raw food enthusiast Jeff Boticelli. Vince, Jinelle, and Jeff knew they had all made another amazing connection and soon a new company was born. Their creation is dedicated to elegant, European-style raw chocolate bars.
Very shortly after they met and started making these chocolates, they partnered with Sunfood, who is now carrying their incredible bars.
Vince and Jinelle recently came back to the cold Midwest for a visit. Much like before, we met up again at Ecopolitan, only this time, they had brought samples of their latest creations.
Oh. My. God.
AMAZING. We were in heaven. Hershey's? Nestle? They are all obsolete after a taste of Fortina's incredible, living chocolate bars.
We were all in cacao heaven! And on top of it, they left us with a full bar of their new vanilla flavored raw chocolate bar.
As you can see in the picture below, their bars are smooth, shaped into bite sized chunks and glistening with living chocolate goodness.
A truly sexy bar.
No words can compare to the taste.
And let us wax poetic about the texture: this is smooooooth, baby. Smooth and dark and rich and creamy and slightly sweet yet slightly dark...it melts in your mouth. Heaven! This is the food of the gods that David Wolfe talks about so much.
Fortina chocolate is a work of art.
You know, over the summer, Sunfood was not selling Fortina online due to the ease of melting in the hot summer temperatures during shipping. They didn't want your chocolate to turn into a gooey mess! Now that things are cooling off it is the perfect time to get some!
We've had all three flavors:
- Dark
- Mint
- Vanilla
They are all so good, but it depends on what you love. For a true dark chocolate lover, Dark is best. For those that love the combination of mint and chocolate, Mint is fabulous. And for an all around flavor delight, go for exotic Vanilla. Hey! Try all three!
Halloween candy? LAME. Get yourself some REAL Chocolate.

P.S. Hey, we want to let everyone know that we are an equal raw opportunity website. Empowered Foods is great...but it is a totally different experience. Empowered Foods is a totally different chocolate, because it is filled with things like goji berries or Macadamia nuts. Fortina is simply chocolate. We love both chocolates, but for different reasons. More chocolate for everybody!

I've never tried this. I'm going to have to put in an order! Thanks
I just did an interview with Steve Adler from Sacred Chocolate. I'll be posting it tomorrow.
Raw Chocolate blowing up.
I have eaten this chocolate and absolutely LOVE it. It is the only chocolate you can ever eat and not feel guilty about it. There's nothing to feel guilty about!
Try it, try it, TRY IT!
