Heidi Announcement: I am Juice Feasting

Taking the red pill and going on a raw food journey called juice feasting for 92 days

Take the red pill Neo...

I am about to go on a journey. A journey through space and time...

A Journey called Juice Feasting.

It wasn't a choice, you see.
I have to do it.
I have to Juice Feast.

It all happened so fast, less than 48 hours ago...all because a little voice told me to.

Let me explain...

It all started over a month ago when David Rainoshek emailed us and asked us if we were interested in taking a look at his JuiceFeasting.com membership program. That's how it all began. It was so innocent. Harmless. Simple. We were just going to take a look at a website. I was just going to look over all the materials, information, resources. Around here at Raw Food Right Now it is a perfectly normal part of our life now, as we get a lot of requests.

We've done many many reviews here on Raw Food Right Now, and this was going to be yet another review that we were excited about. Neither of us had any intentions on juice feasting ANY time soon...

Both JS and I started looking over the website. We were floored to find out just how much information is packed into the full JuiceFeasting.com program. We are going to give a complete review here on the blog in a few days, but suffice to say right now, it is a mega program. But it was not just the Juice Feasting website that made this happen. There is more...

The second piece of the puzzle was after going through all of the Juice Feasting materials, we both realized that we had not read Angela Stokes' Juice Feasting Handbook. Oh yes, we had been watching over her juice feast last year via her personal blog back in November 2006, but we had not read her ebook until recently. Once again, we were floored by the amount of information and Angela's beautiful way that she shares her unique personal experience. I'll save a review for another time soon, but this was another source of information on juice feasting.

I read through all these materials, and I thought it was wonderful to know that the topic of juice feasting is growing in popularity among the raw food community.

That was all fine and good, but that wasn't what took me over the edge to make the choice to start such an endeavor as a juice feast.

What pushed me over the edge started with just a simple thought - what would I do if I were to juice feast? Would I blog about it? Most certainly yes. What would I blog about? What would I say? I would tell it all, as much as I could, as much as humanly possible.

And that is all it took to send me over the edge...once I started thinking about the idea of blogging about a juice feast, I just knew I had to do it. I had to start. Now.

It became a very strong calling for me to document my personal experience with what it means to take on a juice feast. I want to find out what it is really like - the detox, the changes, the emotions, the positives, the negatives, and especially the experience of what it is like to live on liquids for up to 92 days.

It all happened so fast...just a few days ago, and I just knew. It wasn't even a choice. It was just a very deep feeling that this is what I must do next. The choice had already been made. The only thing I had to choose was not what if, but when.

Of course, I always do everything to the max - and this is no exception, as I plan to document as much of my experience as possible.

I want to be the lab rat.
I want to jump through this rabbit hole.

I want to take the red pill.
I'm ready for an Adventure in Wonderland.

Huh? What? What the heck is Juice Feasting?

To quote David Rainoshek on the website Juice Feasting.com:
"Juice Feasting, as the name implies, is a Program of abundance, in which the Feaster drinks 12-15 lbs of juiced produce each day, providing all the nutrition needed to feed the body/mind, yet placing the body in a position to detoxify and eliminate deficiencies."

One of my favorite aspects of Juice Feasting is that it is a "self-empowering" practice. This is totally DIY, this is real life Do it Yourself kind of experience. You get the produce, you make the juice, you drink the juice, you live your life. This doesn't have to be something where you have to "go off somewhere distant" in some foreign country or even a foreign city a thousand miles away...you can do this in your own home.

That is just what I am going to do. I am going to juice feast in the middle of winter, in cold cold Minnesota. It's going to be wonderful.

I feel like I have never been more serious in my life. As I have previously mentioned, I had a car accident in 1997. After the car accident I started working out to strengthen my body and heal my life. I feel like I am about to go on a similar journey....but this time it will be raw! Huzzah!

A Few Questions Before I Get Started:

When will you start this Juice Feast?

Friday, January 25th, 2008 (yeah...like tomorrow!)

When do you plan to be complete with this juice feast?

A traditional Juice Feast can be different for everyone, but the most popular plan is 92 days, which matches the 92 elements that are known to be beneficial for the human body. I plan to be done with juice feasting on April 26th 2008, as I intend to go for the full 92 days.

There have been multiple people who after approximately 60 days, their body sends them clear signals that it is time to stop feasting and start taking in solid foods. So at this time I am not going to say that I am forcing myself to do 92 days...but that is my intention right now.

Where can I learn more about Juice Feasting?

We are going to talk a lot more about great juice feasting websites and juice feasting blogs, but for now, the best place to check out is Juice Feasting.com. While you are there, I really suggest you take a look at the informative page called "What is Juice Feasting?"

Is JS going to Juice Feast too?

Nope - JS is not going to do the full complete juice feast, but he will be drinking a lot of juice with me! It'll be fun!

Oh no! What is going to happen to all the cool Raw Food Right Now blog posts?

Here is what is going to be great about this experience: I am going to blog about my experience here on Raw Food Right Now - I'm not starting a new blog that you have to keep track of. And JS will be working on regular blog posts for Raw Food Right Now. He has some exciting posts ahead that I know you will want to check out. So what this means is...just more good posts from Raw Food Right Now! It will be a feast of posts!

We have always been dedicated to offering a balance of both personal posts and professional posts. This will be no exception. We will continue to offer the same quality information and resources that you have grown to love, as well as offer our unique perspective on what it means to be a raw foodist.

Heidi, I have a question!

I know there will be a LOT of questions. And I will do my best to answer them along the way. If you have any questions, simply fill out our feedback form and ask away. I will be going through these questions and posting the answers here on the blog.

Just know that we have had a surge of email within the last two months. At the moment it is not humanly possible for me to personally write back to everyone, but I will read everything, and I will be posting most questions here on the blog for all to see.
. . .
Now that I got those initial questions out of the way... I am excited. This is going to be fun...do you agree?

I do not know what lies ahead...but thanks to the many people who have come before me, I have a hand drawn map to guide me as I walk on my own path. This all came about so sudden, so fast. And I feel like I have so much to tell you! But one step at a time, and one blog post at a time...and with 92 days ahead of me...that is a lot of blog posts...

The journey is about to begin.
You've got a front row seat!
Get ready, because here I go!

Love, ~ Heidi

Fantastic Heidi! I'll be watching closely to see how you go, as I want to do it also - again, a very intrinsic feeling of not "if" but "when" I do it. How exciting! :)

Cool to have you onboard, Heidi! Your story sort of mirrors mine in the juice feasting departement! ;o)

I stumbled across Angela Stokes' blog sometime last year, and in November I decided to read it from start to finish. The very day after I read about Angela's decision to do a 92-day juice feast and followed the link to juicefeasting.com, I received an e-mail from the site owners David & Katrina Rainoshek, offering to promote my blog Power of Raw on day 8 of their 92-day programme, and giving me a free 30-day trial of the site as well! Talk about synchronicities!

I happily accepted, and plowed through all of the wonderful information on the site. I started my feast on 31 December 2007, so today is day 26! :oD And I am also blogging about my experiences, just like you plan to.

Wishing you all the best for your feast,

lots of love from Neens

LOVE the Matrix reference. So cute! Good luck with your feast. I'm looking forward to finally getting a vitamix (soon I hope), and have been hankering to try the juice feast... but will wait until post pregnancy/breastfeeding... however, the juice is going to start making appearances as soon as that vitamix can be ordered and delivered. (Did I mention, SOON, I hope?) Really looking forward to hearing about your experiences!

Hey Heidi,
Welcome to the juice train!
So glad to hear you are moved to juice - it just kind of wells up all of a sudden, doesn't it?
We're mostly having a blast (depending on the day, haha) - it's quite wonderful to do this with such great, supportive community growing literally everyday.
Juicily,

Heidi! I'm with you! This post inspired me and I've started today, after putting it off for so long (I even wrote about it on givetittomeraw, my first post there - :) http://www.giveittomeraw.com/profiles/blog/show?id=1407416%3ABlogPost%3A71441)

I also LOVED all the info you will be listing, and I thought the part on lucid dreaming was especially interesting. Last year I took a course on projeciology and it was WONDERFUL. If you are interested in lucid dreaming, you have should read about projeciology sometime. Check out this site: http://www.iacworld.org/

All the best for you during this feast!!
