RAWphoria Live - Packaged Raw Crackers and More! [Raw Product Review]

RAWphoria Live packaged raw food company - product review by Raw Food Right Now
Is the Importance of a Dehydrator Just a Lot of Hot Air?

(Pun very much intended!)

If you don't have a dehydrator, transitioning to raw can be difficult. You really want that crispy crunch of your familiar favorite cooked food snack food, just better for you. Maybe you want potato chips, or perhaps crispy crackers is your thing. You may even want the chewy crunchy sweet taste of cereal.

But making your own dehydrated treats and flax crackers can be time consuming, and if you aren't the best raw home chef, you may not be able to replicate your favorite flavors that you dearly miss.

If this is you, RAWphoria Live has got you covered!

Who, or what is is RAWphoria Live?

RAWphoria Live is a creative dry raw goodies company created by Robin Moyer and Kelly Ayers, two women from Iowa who love raw food and wanted to create products for people wanting to eat a healthier lifestyle.

Robin herself suffered from headaches and migraines from as early an age as 2 1/2 years old. 30 years later she discovered she may have Celiac disease. Switching to a gluten-free diet made her symptoms disappear almost instantly. Soon after, Robin found raw food and has now totally changed her life to a healthy (and happy!) one. Since Robin is now in the best health of her life, she realized she had to create food products for other people like her.

Robin is a long time reader of Raw Food Right Now and contacted us recently. We got to talking and she mentioned that she started a new company. Robin was kind enough to send a care package filled with a variety of RAWphoria goodies.

When the package arrived, it felt like Christmas - in August!

Here's what we found inside the box: RAWphoria Corntilla Chips, Tomato Basil Crackers, Jalapeno Crackers, Cinnamon Raisin Crackers and Nutty Berry Granola.

While all of them were delicious, one of them really stood out:

Corntilla Chips by RAWphoria Live
Corntilla Chips. We've had raw corn chips made by a few different people, and once at a raw restaurant. None of them compare to this magic RAWphoria recipe. The corn is sweet, the jalapeno has a nice tingle of heat that dances on your tongue, then gently retreats long enough to have another chip. And another. And another.

As soon as we had our first bite, we quickly whipped up a batch of guacamole to go with the corntilla chips...and we were in Tex-Mex heaven! The texture of these chips are crispy (as much as you can make corn crispy in a dehydrator), but also slightly chewy. And the flavor?! These chips are bursting with flavor! Each chip is scored into various triangle shapes, which makes them perfect for dipping.

Warning: Corntilla Chips are too delicious. They may cause inexcusable smiles. You have been warned. Also, if you have a secret cooked corn chip addiction that A LOT of raw foodists have but do not discuss publicly (JS: Yeah, I still eat cooked corn chips!), this is the best substitute we have seen so far.

Just Another "Flax Cracker Company", You Say?

When we think of RAWphoria, the word that comes to mind quickly is quality. The food is delicious and we are also very fond of good image. The packaging is wonderfully sleek and so well designed. In fact, we did not open the packages for 24 hours because I (Heidi) had to admire the packaging designed by the fabulous graphic designer Sheree Clark who is also into raw food.

Did we mention it's eco-friendly packaging too?! And if that wasn't enough, the company is run by people who love raw food and really believe in creating a quality product.

RAWphoria brings packaged raw food to a new level. This is a raw foodists dream.

Maybe you are busy at work and don't have time to make crackers. Maybe you are thinking about buying a dehydrator but don't know if you like raw dehydrated food. We suggest buying some goodies from RAWphoria Live when you want to buy yourself something fun and crunchy.

Check them out, try them out, and if you are generous enough, share them with a friend... But we totally understand if you want to keep RAWphoria treats all for yourself!

A Sign of the Raw Times

A quick note here. As the raw food movement grows (and believe us, it's growing!), we are going to begin to see more of a demand for packaged, dried and prepared foods, such as flax crackers, cookies, and such.

While we all know "fresh is best", in our crazy, already packaged world, there is a strong need for shelf-ready foods in brilliant packaging to make the raw foods movement seem more accessible to the mainstream. When people first hear about the benefits of a raw food diet, they are going to activate that little part of their brain that will turn on when they see the word "raw" on the shelf at their local co-op or supermarket.

Believe us, they aren't going to be thinking about eating raw food while going down their produce aisle at first. We are going to need to get more packaged foods, superfoods, powders, nut butters, and other things with the words "RAW" on it to keep reminding those people who have heard of raw food and think, "Gee, that sounds like a good idea!", but never get around to doing anything about it.

We would like to thank companies like RAWphoria Live and others that are heralding a larger movement towards more packaged raw foods.
